May Updates From the Board President

Hello UUCC Friends,

I hope this message finds you well.  I just wanted to check in to tell you about what is happening at UUCC.

UUCC has a food pantry for those in need of food and personal hygiene items.  If you (or someone you know) is in need, please let us help.  Contact Gates or Tracie for more info.

Our virtual worship is going well.  Of course, it isn’t like getting to be together in person, but it has provided a  much needed sense of community through the craziness of the past 2 months. If you have not joined us, I encourage you to do so.  You can find the link at the top of the page at our website www.uucookeville.org. I hope you will join us.

Just so you know, the UUCC board will reevaluate the need to continue virtual service each month at our board meeting.  It looks like it will continue to be virtual for the foreseeable future.

We are in need of service coordinators for services, specifically this Sunday, since Gates and I will not be available. The following is from Gates Craighead, our worship committee chair:

Good afternoon. I’m writing because we do not have a service coordinator for this Sunday. I am not able to do it. We desperately need more people who are able and willing to coordinate online. It’s not very difficult, and we can practice on Saturdays if you need to practice. Please let me know if you are able to coordinate this Sunday (May 24). This link takes you to the worship schedule.

Even if you cannot do this Sunday, we will need coordinators in coming weeks as well.  We also have openings for speakers in late June and July. “Joyful Service!”

Flower communion is coming in June.

Linda Delventhal is continuing to sell fair trade items.

Finally please be safe everyone! I worry that too many people feel that everything is back to “normal” now that the restrictions are being lifted. I see so many people that are not taking needed precautions to protect their health and the health of others. Please be cautious.

May we all be well,
Tracie Craighead,
UUCC Board President
