Our Governance
Our Fifth Principle is “The right of conscience and the use of democratic process within our congregations and in society at large.” And our vision statement names us as “minister-led, member-driven.”
That vision statement, our congregational covenant, and our mission statement are all documents that were crafted and adopted by the congregation itself. All decisions about congregational leadership, budget, and changes to our by-laws are made by the congregation itself. This can be challenging at times, but we are committed to democratic process. It also means that our members have the joy and challenge of co-creating the way we exist together as a congregation, and the way we interact with the community. Members have a vote on our procedures and leadership, and can run for positions on our Board.
If you’re interested in membership, please feel free to speak to our minister or any member of the board.
