Due to COVID-19, Chalice Circle will be held remotely until further notice and may be following an alternate schedule. Please check our Facebook group or email Deanna Lack (uucookevilledl@gmail.com) for instructions on how to join.

Our Chalice Circle group will not be meeting during July. We are going to take a break to focus on our current Service Project.

A new Chalice Circle group will begin in August. We will continue to meet on zoom on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 6pm. We will meet on the first Tuesday of the month for a traditional small group meeting, and we will meet on the third Tuesday of the month to focus on our service project (to be determined by the group). This page will be updated closer to our August start date. If you’ve never been to a Chalice Circle meeting, please consider joining us!

Chalice Circle is a UU tradition of “small group ministry”. Facilitated by Gates Craighead, each week she chooses a topic and together we do readings on that topic, ponder some questions, and then we have sharing time, during which we practice deep listening — no fixing, no advising, no interrupting. It is amazing how refreshing it is just to be listened to. Some examples for topics might be “Gratitude,” or “What is Faith?” or “New Beginnings.” Chalice Circle follows Meditation on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays, at 7:00 pm, and people often attend both together.

For examples of what to expect during Chalice Circle, we encourage you to explore the following outlines from recent sessions.
